AIIS News & Policy respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”). We expect our users and contributors to do the same.

How to File a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you are a copyright owner or authorized agent, and you believe that material on our website infringes your copyright, please send us a written notification with all of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  2. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including the specific URL(s) of the page(s) where it appears.
  3. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  4. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  5. Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

What Happens Next

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notification, AIIS News & Policy will:

  • Review the claim and verify the details.
  • Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content if appropriate.
  • Notify the user or contributor who posted the content, if applicable.
  • Provide information on how to file a counter-notification if they believe the removal was in error.

How to Submit a Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification. Your counter-notification must include:

  1. Identification of the material that has been removed or disabled and its location before removal.
  2. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for your judicial district and will accept service of process from the person who filed the original DMCA notification.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.
